I don't do any mechanical work on the car. Really, there's no work that needs to be done. The car runs great all the time, and it's not like I mod as a hobby. Fluid changes are done at STM with an occasional oil change at the dealer. I do like to work on the paint, but that's a little different.

cool. i actually have an MR2 turbo which i have done everything except press in the wheel bearings so far. I like working on my own car, satisfaction, plus you get to spend as much time on the job as u can/need so you can do it properly and to a standard that you are happy with. The Evo VIIs here in AUS are all imports and have ACY/ACD etc, not the half assed non-import ones the US got i think. So ill probably aim for a VII, plus i dont have the cash for an VIII yet haha.

thanks for the replies, looks like a lot of people here do work themselves, its good to see

I do the general things. When it comes to more in depth installs I just take it to my friend who has worked on my cars for 12 years.

But tuning.... I'd take to someone.
I'm so cheap that I learn to do things myself. So I have. But, like above, I'd take my car to a professional to tune.
