Concerning Problems?
I really wish CT9A / CZ4A chassis could get along better.
Traded a 08 STI for my 2010 X GSR! Best damn trade-in I have ever done. Bought my X at the end of April of last yr, and have covered 12,100 of trouble free miles. Clearbra takes care of paint issues, no rattles in my car(guess I am one of the lucky ones) Have yet to get the blue FP relay(mine has the black one) Went Cobb stage 1 around a month ago, and am very happy overall with my X. Your best beat is to go drive both so you can see the difference between the two.
For a 2008 GSR maybe, I have a 2011 MR and have had none of the listed problems
fuel pump relay (newer models have this fixed)
pins in tranny differential causing tranny failure (same here)
fuel return line recalled (same)
hood latch recalled (never heard this one, likely fixed by '11)
knock sensor mystery (Never heard this one either are you talking about tuning and detecting knock?)
maf failures common (People over oiling their filter)
cloth on seats (get leather)
scratching tint due to window design (what?)
rattly windows when partially open (No subby guy should be counting this my STi was a million times worse)
rattly glove compartment (this may have been fixed because I haven't noticed it but it is an easy fix)
rattly seatbelt mechanisms on bpillars (What again)
weak clutch (your only legit one and one of the reasons I went with an MR)

I work on both cars. My un-biased opinion is that Subaru builds a "nicer" car. The doors shut better, the fit and finish is better, etc (speaking after 2008). But, Mitsu builds a "better" car. The doors on the Evo dont shut like a Subaru, lets face it. But if your a true enthusiast, the evo is the car for you. It works better hands down. Problems are simple fixes...
No need to try and convince me anymore guys, I GOT ONE! I went into the dealership on wednesday and purchased a 2011 Evo X GSR in octane blue. Its currently on a ship from japan, and won't be in until 3 weeks. I fell in love during the test drive of the one the dealership had on the lot.

Must be patient.

I wasn't going to budge on any of the packages, so there weren't any in the U.S. (after effects of everything in Japan).
It is coming with Sight and Sound, Navi, and sunroof and leather.
