Leasing Question

I was looking to lease an Evo and was curious if anybody on here has gone this route. What kind of experiences did you guys have and is there any tips or tricks that I should be aware of?

Thanks
Khurn

Do plenty of research, make sure leasing is makes sense for you. Do you plan to mod the car? Anything more than light bolt-ons I'd say no to on a leased vehicle.

Kracka is right. If you do any type of mods, you will need to take them off before you return or else you could end up paying a penalty.

I barely have enough money to lease the car comfortably so I do not plan to do any major mods. Im pretty much looking to see if anybody is leasing and the different processes they went through.

And Kracka how do you like the evo 10 compared to the 9?

Leasing is good if you plan on having it soley for short term. And if you don't plan on modding. Otherwise finance.

The X is the superior car for me, hands down. I really enjoy driving my X daily, the same could not be said about my IX. More often than not I was irritated or pissed at it. The X I honestly look forward to driving every day, even my commute to/from work.

I agree with these guys. If it's short term and no plans of modding then go for it. If you can barely afford the lease though you may want to make sure insurance wont put you over your limit.

Why put yourself in a bad position with no safety net. You didnt learn from people over-extending in the housing market huh?

this is why nothing gets fixed, nobody learns.

now the answer is 100% stay away from the evo. Maintenance will rape your pooter. Gas will rape it again, and finally Insurance will rape it a third time.

Most answers you will get here will be to satay away from leasing this car. In my case i am leasing it and i think i got a good deal. My payment is arrownd 430 and i put down 3000. I could afford to buy it, but that would have put me at a much higher payment. The lease ofer i got had a very low apr, about 1.3 % so it made no sense to me to buy. The residual value on my car is 17800 if i remember correctly and i plan on buying it when the lease is up, considering the prices of a used 2008 evo is way over 20000, i se no reason why a 2011 won't cost at list that much in 2015. That if the millage is still low and the car has been well taken care of.
The only way purchasing the evo would have been much more advantageous, was if i could get 0 % apr for at list 6 years. As far as maintanance goes, evo isn't any worst than any bmw, mercedes, or any other higher end car brand. An oil cahange for my 2.3 c 230 would cost me more than the evo because it took over 7 quarts of oil.
