Evo X steering wheel Mitsubishi logo

I just purchased my 2008 Evo X MR about a month ago (I love the car) and the previous owner had attempted a steering wheel logo delete by coloring it black with what it looks like a black sharpie. It doesn't look really good and I really prefer the stock silver logo look on the steering wheel.

I am looking to bring it back to stock but I can't find a part number for just the logo... and I'd rather not replace the entire airbag...

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to restore it? or know of a place where I can just get the logo by itself?

Real easy. Go to your local Parts Dept. at your MITSUBISHI Dealership. I'm pretty sure the logo is an orderable part...Also, there are solvents/strong cleaners that can remove the 'coloring' job from a sharpie. Try Windex.

A cheap alternative would be to have a silver vinyl logo cut you can place over the black.

unless the previous owner sanded down the logo before painting it, you can remove the black Sharpie coloring with a mild solvent like goo-gone or perhaps even Windex, as someone already mentioned. Just make sure you don't get the solvent over the black trim around the logo, or it may discolor it.

If you are pretty confident that it was done with a sharpie, go buy another sharpie and start coloring over the emblem. Have some type of light cleaner (windex) on hand and a couple rags. As you color over the logo immediately follow behind with the light cleaner and it should come right off. Just try it, what do you have to lose?

Yah +1 on the solvents. When I get used discs for disc golf, I use acetone, usually comes off in layers (if multiple people have put their name on it)

He probably traded it in for a subie. Although I'm sure he's regretting that now....
