Cost of stock tires....

So my car is only a month old and I recieved my first flat tire..sucks. I call a local tire company to check the price on the stock tire and they are $400 each. Damn for tires that last 10k mile at best. Needless to say I sprung for it. Just venting.

Yep! They are $394 at Tirerack! I have 13k on my GSR, and am planning on going with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS to replace the OEM Yoko's. Mine are getting pretty worn out, plus the winter wx is right around the corner.

If it could be repaired, you should have repaired it. While the stock tires perform well for warm climates, they cost way too much when there are better performing tires for a lot cheaper.

I'll be getting the DWS for my winter wheels, and whenever the Yokos give out replace those with the Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

You could probably get 4 barely used A13Cs for that price.

I love my Conti DWS'! They're alot quieter than the Yoko's ever were. That being said, you're gonna lose some cornering performance and response. Upping the tire pressure to 34 psi all around helped a bit with steering feel. A great overall all-season tire, but not the best at dry weather handling by any means. I'd definately buy them again, assuming they last. If I can afford to pick up a set of wheels in the future, I'd definately get the DW's for summer.

Yeah I hope they will be able to repair the tire. I had some sort of puncture in the middle of the tire. I don't think its repairable. The tire is on special order till monday. I think I might call tomorrow and change it for a cheaper yoko since I'm buying rims early to mid next year. What do you guys think.

I would have just bought a new complete set of something else like the V12s and sold the 3 left overs stockers. You would still be out of $400 but would have less expensive tires to replace next time something like that happens.
