Realistic value of my evo
Realistic value of my evo
Well I am going to be selling my car fairly soon I bought it with 19,000 miles and its barely at 20,000 miles I never drive it. I wanted to get some opinions of what you guys this is a realistic value for my car.
Its a 2008 WW Evo X with 20,000 miles
Rockford fosgate system
Smart key
Invidia TBE
Cobb accesport
xxr 527 wheels 18x9.5 with 275 hankooks
hid's in lows and fogs
It is an SSS car but I sold my headlights and wing shortly after I got it
Car is fairly clean for being an 08 normal small scratches on front lip and a tiny scratch on back bumper. No accidents Clean title
I need 27k is that realistic to high to low.
Im a little frustrated because my best friend just sold his 06 IX for 26 with double my miles
here are some random pics of the car

I think that's a fair price. Go on AutoTrader and you'll see Evo X's going for that price but with twice the mileage. Is the only reason your selling it because you never drive it?
Well a big reason why I never drive it is because I have 2 other cars an 07 m35 and an 05 SRT10 quad cab. I honestly don't like the car, I loved my friends IX and I feel like the X is somewhat of a let down. My ultimate goal is to get a GTR but unlike I expected they refuse to drop in price.

And yea, 9's were only made in 06, so they are more rare. The X has been made for almost 4 years and they are still making new ones.
Have you thought about getting a tune? I don't know if you have one, but the '08s do kinda suck with the stock tune. For like 300 bucks you might be more happy with the car.. And you are in SoCal.

If the car is clean and has an honest no accident history, I cant see having to settle for 23k. Now if its an auction rat with questionable history, then sure.
As for the GTRs, dont know what the OP is expecting.
I have numerous friends that dropped 90k+ on them 2 years ago and in threads just like this one are now being told "56k" is what they should figure. Even factoring in BS internet low balling, low 60s is a real number for GTRs.
The GTR has depreciated more than the cost of a new EVO in 3 years, so not sure what you were expecting to see them trading at.
Also, Id suggest actually driving the GTR if you havent. If you prefer the IX to the X, its odd you'd like the GTR which is even bigger, heavier and more bloated than the X is and it *really* feels it. Its 300lbs heavier than an X and *600* heavier than a IX :O They remedy that by just boosting the hell out of that engine. You can do the same thing with the X really. The GT-R is a great car, but it definitely doesnt share the qualities that make the *IX* in particular appealing to some folks vs the X. Quite the opposite.

I agree with one of the op's above. 23-25k private party and I bet closer to 21k trade in. Evo's initially drop like a rock and then stabilizes in the high teen low twentys for some reason. It being modified doesn't help you much. If you have the stock parts bring it back to stock. You'll get more for it and then sell the Mods to make up the difference.
I just bought my 2008 with SSS package and had been looking for a long time at prices and what not. I got mine with only 9300 miles from a dealer for $26,500 so I'm guessing you'd be lucky to get 25k for it. Seems that just how the market is these days.
It really depends on where you sell your car, and who is buying it.
To be honest, the trade in value of a 2008 with "good condition" is right at 20-22k range. The dealer is going to make a decent profit.
I am very sure a lot of the people here will speak of their experiences.
