Need help fast wAlbro pump

KrazyHouse is installing a fuel pump and getting a peteytune. I purchased just the pump. Installer called and said it only goe halfway in. It is a walbro255 lph and i drive a 2010 evo gsr. I thought this was plug and play without having to do the housing gasket. Any help please? Do i really need install kit?

update : figured it would suck to have to pay to put the stocker back in so I decided to go with a readily available Cobb 255 w/kit just to be safe
