Fairfax eh? I used to be in Herndon, in Manassas now And I hear you on the hard-wired detector. My Escort 8500 has saved my *** numerous times around here, I'd upgrade to a laser jammer, but I think my new son (due any day now) is going to be a sort of speed inhibiting device himself. haha
EvoDeamt: Yup pretty much spot on. Have an office in Herndon, so there a lot, right off the toll road. I have the passport 8500 but dont use it bc of the risk for a ticket if they see the detector. I want to have mine hardwired, but since its not like the V1 and comes with an optional wire kit, would be a PITA to splice wires, extend the cable and route it through the ceiling. So just try an drive easy. Without a jammer, if they gun you your screwed anyway, dont want them taking my radar.

Fairfax, arlington, DC cops all BLOW (that being said im friends with some, but gross generalizations are whats the internet is for, right?)

What color/model/mods do you have to your evo? I guarentee you ive seen you at some point, in herndon/mann@sshole i mean mannassas quite often.

either way congrats on the son and hopefully cya round at some point!

Ah ok. I've probaly seen you around as well. I have a Wicked white ralliart with black roof and wheels. Plate says nt a evo, but will be baby evo soon.

Wiring the 8500 direct is easy. Use a fuse tap and plug into the acc fuse. Then pull off the a pillar cover an run the wire behind there and over. Tuck into headliner. Took bout 10 min. Having the sun strip on the window hides it well. had it on my lancer before the ra.

Baby was born yesterday. Should be taking him home Friday. :-)
