Driving School

i got a ticket for overspeeding on the 405 last night and the cop told me that if i go to driving school it won't affect my insurance. my record is clean until last night. is it true that when i enroll in a driving school the insurance company would not see that in my record?

You can take a defensive driving course online.

And if you already took a defensive driving course a motorcycle safety course counts as one as well :-)

In AZ you get to take it once every 2 years. No points on license and insurance doesn't know. I think each state is different.

You can take the drivers school once every 18 months in Cali to remove a 1 point moving violation. It's the second moving violation within 18 months that really messes up your insurance payments.

I'd check with ur specific state. I was told by my lawyer that the class would act to remove points counted towards revoking your license according to the state (i.e. raise the # of points u can lose by like 2).

But the insurance will still see it.

California is 4 active points to suspend your license. Some insurance companies will drop you if you have 2 or more points as well. Since this is your first offense, drivers school will take care of it. There is also something called second offender drivers school, but you usually have to fight to get that one.
