Evolution of my Evolutions :)

So I started out on a 2005 Evo VIII I had for about 6 months until I got a 2006 GG IX. I liked my VIII but loved my IX. In 2008 I traded my GG IX in for a 2006 TB IX SE.
Now in my adventures through the VIII and IX my fav was the GG IX. I had a ton of mods on it, meth, etc. the whole deal. My SE never really got off the ground and I felt like I really missed my std IX.

In May 2010 I bought a WW GSR SSS. I loved the car, tracked it, drove the $^%* out of it and could not have asked for anything better. Over the past few months I have been thinking about a MR. I like the idea of paddles because I love tracking, I was just not sure if I would like the idea of not shifting with a standard shifter as that's all I have know since the start of my Evo days.

Well today I traded my WW 2010 GSR SSS for a WW 2012 MR, and I am really digging the SST. I like the idea that I can drive my car 3 ways now. Paddles, shift with the shifter, or just leave it in auto. So after my first day with the car I am very happy with it and cant wait to get on the road again in the morning.

Just thought I would share

Nice! Congrats! You really can move you cars! I wonder how you go about trading that often. If they are paid off, or you just trade in at a dealer to switch over loans, etc.

Anyways, I'm looking to get a 2012 GSR. I keep hearing all the good things about the MR, but I still can't get my head past not having a clutch pedal! Plus, my truck will likely be automatic, and my wife's car is also automatic! I'd miss the traditional shifting too much! Plus, I'm not sure I want to pay what the MR costs anyway! Ha.

I have been on here a long time and have read all the post about that. I have also tuned many MR's some 400HP+ and it's not a big deal like people make it out to be, plus I do not plan on building a monster. Over the last few years my modding has become a lot more mild, maybe I am growing up

For me its more about the switch from 5 speed to SST. I am seeing how I like it and I left the option with my dealer open to swap back to a 2012 GSR if this is just not for me. So far so good though, traffic was nice this morning considering I did not get a knee cramp with the fantastic LA traffic I have to deal with.

I'm enjoying the SST too. For some reason I prefer shifting it in manual mode with the shifter other than the paddles as of right now..

When I had my ralliart before the Evo I also preferred shifting with the shift knob and not the paddles. Full auto mode was fun too though when your running all out.

I have tried shifting with other paddle cars and it always feels weird.

There's just something to be said about blasting through the gears on a stick rather than video game style with the paddles, but that's just me.

Congrats! Great time to get into an SST equipped car! Even though the peak numbers are lower, the SST drives faster mod for mod (its all about boost management and MIVEC, as it sounds like you know)

Nice, congrats! I thought I was bad with 3 Evos in 9 years. I tried to get into the SST but it really wasn't doing it for me, even though it sounded fun in theory.

Edit: I miss my GG Evo IX MR too. I wish I didn't sell that car, it's impossible to find a stock one. Cruise control is nice though.

Evo Jason...Orland Park Toyota right outside of Chicago has a bone stock(not returned to stock) GG IX MR with 27K miles for sale. No I don't work there LOL but I thought I'd give you the heads up if you truly were looking for one again by any chance.
