Hey guys just wanted some opinions. I have an evo 8 but I was sort of thinking of buying an evo x and trading the 8 in. What would you say would be the pros and cons I made that decision?

 

For me the cons were throttle response, and size/weight, front seats on X seem more snug than VIII.

Pros were newer car, sst, s-awc. Not as much male attention as with the VIII

 

My brother bought his Evo VIII back in 2003, so I spent a lot of time driving it over the years before I bought my X.

The 8 is definitely more raw, less refined, maybe even more rally inspired than the X. The 8 is lighter weight and handles incredibly well. My brother's 8 is a beast with the mods he has on it. Unfortunately the engine is also showing its age and it might need a rebuild at some point. He might even sell it, but he doesn't want to because he loves the car.

The Evo X is definitely more luxurious in all aspects and a bit heavier. I have no idea which car handles better. They both handle incredibly well and only a driver pushing the limits could accurately comment on if either car is better in the handling department.

As for power, stock vs stock, the 8 is faster (I think). That all goes out the window once you start modding. You can take either car as far as you want power wise.

If you have an opportunity to start fresh with the X, go for it and you will be happy.

 

i own both cars currently the x is more luxury with x, 8 is better car for mods power ect ....
