Running BOV to vent to atmosphere, any problems with that?

Well I just got my synapse BOV and wanted to run it to vent to the atmosphere on my X, I didnt want to recirculate it. The guy I'm going to, to get tuned by said the newer cars don't let running with the bov venting to the atmosphere and that the cars dont run that well even after tuning. He said to recirculate it. Anybody here run a BOV on their X to vent to atmosphere and have any problems?

Dont do it especially with the X. They hate vta and the driveability will suffer. Any reason why you dont want to recirc it?

Most of the guys that do VTA have problems with stalling coming to stop signs, etc. Just recirc it.

if you want the "psssh" sound, get a turbosmart dual port or a cobb xle... both can run full recirc or half recirc... they should let you maintain drive-ability while giving you the BOV sound you seek.

There is plenty of noise, even full recirc, with my Cobb BPV.

Do you have an intake? I'm stock airbox with drop in, and I can't hear any aftermarket DV I've tested. I used a friend's Turbosmart in twin vent, though, and man I heard that. Stock DV for now here, since I never found an APS.

Just installing a nice intake like ETS or Cobb will bring the stock DV to life. That is enough for me.

Yes I do, AFE Stage 2 + Cobb inlet tube. You should really consider getting yourself an aftermarket BOV, I can guarantee your stocker is leaking your BBXLite's goodness. Don't get too hung up on just the APS, there are other quality valves on the market that are right at home on a daily-driver (Cobb BPV & Synapse DV).

I have an Agency Power CAI + a Forge RS running recirc... and honestly, I can hardly tell a difference between this setup and a traditional fast and the furious vta. And for me, I wanted the BOV noise, I sought a setup that gave me the performance and that noise.

That was the one bit of rice on my car that I definitely wanted. but I wasn't willing to sacrifice performance for it.

Cobb released a speed density option for the evolution X. This would allow you to vent to the atmosphere w/o problems.
