I need some help guys

I know some of you guys know I been looking for an evo x for awhile. So I am trying to make a deal on a 2011 evo that is out of state at this dealer cartecenterprise. Its used but only has about 5k miles on it and there has only been one owner. So without being able to test drive or physically look at it. What would you guys do to ensure that the car is running fine and nothing is wrong with it?

Thank you.

First I would call and get detailed photos and video of EVERYTHING...the website only shows a picture of an EVO X not the one to be purchased. Next if your serious, I would negotiate on the price...although IMHO not a bad price for the year and mileage. Next, if your that serious you could fly out, complete the purchase and drive back...or if it's not to you liking you suc up the flight and return home. Do you know someone in NY or someone on the forum willing to look it over for you? Most used independent car lots/dealerships will let you take it to a mechanic (take it to the area local DSM dealership) before purchase if your local. All in all...from the looks of the other vehicles in their inventory....doesn't look like some fly by night used corner car lot. Good luck!

^^^^If you pay a private mechanic I wouldn't see why not. I (I mean my parents) took my first car I bought from a private car lot/dealership to the Acura dealership and had it looked over. This was back in 2000 but I assume if they want to make you happy and sell the car...they will do what they need to do to make you happy and seal the deal.

I did all but sign the paperwork sight unseen when I bought my X. Feel out the dealership good, check there reputation online. Get them to take tons of pictures of car inside and out. Get your cash/loan together first be prepared to walk when you get there. Mine was only a 3-4 hour drive but none the less I was ready. They sent tons of pictures to me. All in all good buying experience first time I've ever bought a car sight unseen.

If you are spending that kind of money on a car, what is a little more to fly there.

Who knows what could be under the hood of that thing. You could be buying someone else's mistakes.

Are they giving you the remaining warranty? They only get 3/36 and 5/60 to begin with, so they can't technically be certified (which would give it the remainder 5/60 and 10/10). But ask if you get the remainder of the 3/36-5/60. If not, ask why.
