2008 EVO MR Warning/Check Light Keeps Coming on Under Hard Acceleration Please Help

I have a 2008 EVO MR and when ever you accelerate in it and the RPMS go past 6-7k RPMS the car will say warning and check and puts it into a limp mode for a few seconds. The car does it in normal mode and also in sport mode. It does it more ofter in sport mode though. Does any body know what would cause this. The car has intake, exhaust, Stage 3 trans from SSP and a slight tune. The car will also sometimes back fire after.

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!

Feel free to call/text also 724-840-3499

Try swapping out the MAF sensor out with a known working one.

The back firing could be normal.

At first I was going to say the brake fluid was sloshing around and setting off that warning light(which it does when the brake fluid is a little low), but after watching the video, I'm not sure.. Almost like over boosting, but it would go into limp mode alot longer than a few seconds. Do you know who did the tune? A agree with the OP, about trying a new MAF.

i was going to say low brake fluid but that shouldn't put your car in limp mode.

you might be over-boosting. when i was over-boosting, my car backfired frequently.

I had a guy that tunes these car check it out and he said the tune on it is fine. He said it might be the Transmission? Might be the clutch but I dont see how that would happen with a Stage 3 tranny in it.

Com'on, peeps. What do we always ask (if the OP didn't say so on his or her own) when someone asks for help with an engine issue?

"Did you do a boost-leak check?"

Yeah. That's the ticket.

So, you think it's a boost leak causing the system to go rich under high boost, resulting in a misfire and the brief limp mode? Interesting. Wouldn't that also manifest itself as a hunting or stumble at idle as unmetered air were being pulled into the system at vacuum?

I'd say check boost leaks and also spark plugs.

What does a code reader say? I suspect it is storing the code related to the warning.

I did a read on the check engine light and it came up P1243 Inquiry Response Error Which means ECM Failed. So I guess its saying the ECM is screwed. I took it to the dealer and they ordered a new one of it. Hopefully this is the problem
