I've seen that, definitely have to drop the price at least in half before I'd ever consider it. Who goes through the trouble of getting that done and trades it in...

Probably did it because no sane person would buy it outright.

I made an offer. Let's see if they even respond.

I bet whoever reads the email is going to laugh at me and think I'm an idiot. In 9 months when they still have the car, maybe they'll remember me.

How much did you offer them? I looked up the kbb on it. Kbb has the car coming in at $32,123 for suggested retail. Whatever. That would be rediculous pricing even without the dragon paint job. I barely paid a little more than that for my 2012 GSR. But when you do kbb value it only lets you get pricing for "excellent" condition. And to be in excellent condition it must:
Has never had paint or bodywork

I would say the $28k is fair pricing if it did not need a paint job. I would probably offer the dealership $24k or so. I hope they dont think they can get more for the car with that paint job on it. Not unless some ricer kid comes along with money, credit, or income.

I shot 'em a pretty low number. The chances of them even responding are slim; that's how low the offer was.

I'm not in the market for an Evo X, at all. I don't even know what insurance would be. But, if they are willing to come anywhere near the number I sent... Then I'll gladly sell my project bike for the down payment and give them my car as a trade in.

Being that it was wrecked why not do something crazy? It's already going to be red flagged. Might as well try to make up the value another way.

since they have had it for so long now would be a good time for a concentrated tag team lowball attack while reminding them only a dragon slayer is gonna pay that much for it eventually they'll be like okay okay take it
