Trade In Nightmare! Help
I traded in my 2010 evo X SE for a 2011 GSR yest. The verbal deal was that i put the car back to stock before picking up the new car. I bring the car back to stock except the downpipe that i had installed. They checked the car before i took the new car and everything was ok. I then brought the new car home and couldnt be any happier. I get a call this mornig from a sales rep saying that i didnt put back the stock downpipe. I told them thats a big job and i didnt get to do it. I told them that if they want i can have thw downpipe installed from a shop. Now, their saying that the it doesnt have the original intake and i told them that it is the stock intake and that it just doesnt have the metal bracket holding the intake up.They said a master tech checked the car and gave him $4k invoice for things needed to be fixed. Take this in mind that mitsubishi and I didnt have a written contract saying that i had to bring the car completely stock. It was all verbal. The sales manager threatened to take the new car back in a blink of an eye and saying he can do that. Is that true? The guy was practically yelling. He stopped after i said their was no written contract. I mean, they took the trade in for $27,500. All the papers were done. Do i actually have to go through headache? Their was no written contract saying i had to bring the car back 100% exactly how i bought it. It was all verbal. Should i be worried? Can they give me back my old trade in without me having no other choice? Ah this sucks.

I hope im all clear. Worst senario im ok with is swapping back the stock downpipe because its what i verbally said. All im worried about is those fools taking my new car back.

I was willing to put the stock downpipe back. Its just that their saying that i didnt put the bracket on the intake to support it up. Their saying that i had changed something on the transmission but i never got anything done to it. It has 15k miles.
They cant do anything. It is no longer their car. Infact unless you bought the car in full its not your car either. It belongs to your financial institution and I dont think they care about the dealership wanting it back.
If it was me I would have been willing to take care of the issue the dealership has right until the moment the guy started yelling at me. F them. Its their issue now. Enjoy the GSR

What could the guy find for 4k in repairs?
So you know the intake wasnt 100% stock since it was missing the bracket, and you left the stock downpipe on right? I def understand why they are mad since that is what y'all agreed to.. I say just pay for the downpipe to be installed, or do it yourself. It is what y'all agreed to after all. And what is missing off the intake? The metal bracket under the intake that holds it in place? Just buy one off the forums and give it to them. It canT be that expensive.
