what is this icon on this gauge?

I'm referring to the down arrow thing below the temp.

I've seen this twice and it goes away after restarting the car.

Are you sure? I always thought it was low tire pressure indicator.

Mine shows up when I leave a door open before starting. Goes awy after I shut the door. I tried pushing the info button, also. I thought it was for that.

anytime you have some kind of "warning" or "notice", that button/icon shows up a little later in order to ignore it

in this case, your trunk is open. the car is trying to let you know before telling you it's normal info display (MPG, awd, etc).

say you know your trunk is open and just want the car to continue normally, so once that icon pops up, you can hold the Info button (what it's trying to illustrate) to make it go away.

most common application is say you had low tire pressure or no TPMS at all - the car will always bring up the TPMS warning - then it gives you that icon to say "fine, I know, give me back my display"

your salesperson SHOULD have taught you this when you took delivery of the car. but then again, I'm the only salesperson I've known to actually go over the customers new Mitsu before they leave with it
