Absolutely. I wouldn't buy an Evo without it.

retrofitted my my own lights for about $500 with oem looking depos and Evo-R bixenons w/ those morimoto ballasts (top of the line) and the jrox anti flicker harness.

$500 > $3000 and the light output is 10x better than the SSS models.

I'm not concerned about the sound system. I'd rather listen to the car rip and occasionally my mp3 player.

As far as the navi, I just have a garmin and hack it everytime new maps come out

Never owned a vehicle with fast key and don't care much for it. More interested in a remote start.

l
leaves me with $2500 for a set of rotas and coils or maybe I will just that fp BB green i wanted

For me, personally no it wasn't.

I got a base GSR, and put my own HIDs and sound system in and I got it for way less than the package would have cost. HIDs are like $50-70 for good ones, and a sound system you can do for like $1500

The only thing I kinda miss having from my Ralliart is the fast key, and that's not a huge deal.

FastKey, HIDs, and the RF set up is great, but the leather really dresses up the interior and the sunroof is a really nice feature for cracking open during the day so it doesn't get too hot inside. However, the RF set up is actually not that great in my opinion. When I added an amp an a 10" sub to my stock Scion tC it sounded better. But, the value of having a sub box that fits what little trunk there is, is very nice. Having your sub-box slide around in a trunk is ghetto.

IIRC S&L was like $1600 and SSS was $2200, so it's less too.
I agree, both packages are nice. They helped justify the price for me.

Yeah my bad. It's just SS package now. I guess every Evo comes with the big sexy spoiler now?

I ended up getting the Rally Red. It's the base GSR but does have the big spoiler. Fell in love with the color when I saw it in person. i'll post some pics tomorrow!

thanks! and 2012!

I know Evo uses premium gas only... but I got the car from a dealership which was 3 hours away. On my way back I stopped at a service plaza to use the bathroom when I came back my dad told me he filled the gas. He didn't know this car only uses premium gas so he put the regular gas in it. How bad is this for a car? I won't be putting regular gas in the car ever again but will this do any serious damage to the car?

don't boost or drain the tank. as long as you stay out of boost you should be clear, your dad didn't notice the premium fuel only on the gas door? lol

Someone earlier said, and was right, depends on what you want to do with the car. If you are going to heavily mod the car than no, I would save the money and do your own thing. If you are going to track the car then no. If it is a DD and you don't plan a bunch of mods then yes (or if your mods wouldn't include the lights, or sound system).

Right now I am just daily driving the car. Should I wait till the tank is almost completely empty to refuel with premium?

Drive it and avoid going into boost until the tank is half full. Then fill it up with the highest octane you can find.

Or just add a can of Torco and call it a day.
