Planning on getting a Evo X MR soon...few Questions however

hey all, I am planning on getting a 2012 evo x MR in the extremely near future however i have a few questions i would to ask you folks. sorry if format is bad

1.Has anyone ever got an evo or other car from anaheim mitsu or ANY other dealer here in CA and what has been your experience dealing with them.

2 Having checked dealer websites and autotrader.com around CA it looks like i can get a Evo MR for around 35k... I would like to know if anyone can confirm any truth to these prices.

3. Since i am gonna be trading in my current car which is a 09 lancer GTS sun and sound i was just wondering if anyone has a good ballpark figure for what my trade-in could be.. I am planning on just checking what carmax will give to get a idea.

4. I could be wrong but least from what i have seen it looks like they dont have any high wing spoilers on any MRs for sale. i am wondering if that can be added on and how much will it cost.

thanks

I dont know the rest but I'm sure you can just buy the high wing from the dealer.

Call up Sam at HB Mitsu. I got my last two evos from him and my experiences have been really great with him compared to other mitsu dealers I visited.

I went to go look at some '12 gsr's and mr's at the anahiem south coast and hb dealers over the past couple weeks to see what kind of deal i could get. I didn't pick one up yet but the prices i got were similar to what you saw. All the mrs i saw were no spoiler, sure you can add though for a fee

I didnt think you could add on the spoiler. What part number does the dealer quote and for how much? Is the paint included?

I will be getting a WW 2013 MR and asked the dealer to quote me on a few items including the large spoiler, black hood vents and fender vents. I prefer the sportier look of the GSR, thus reason I am getting the spoiler and black trim pieces, but like the dual clutch tranny, suspension and interior upgrades in the MR. I also like the GSR wheels better, but the dealer price is crazy ($1,000 each) and you can find a set for $500 online. Heck, I might even trade the stock BBS wheels for GSR wheels. Eventually, I will get some VMS710s in hyper silver or gunmetal. Anyways, these are the prices I got from my Mitsu dealer in Miami, but they might differ by location:

Large spoiler (comes painted) - $1,800 + installation.
Fender vents (both sides) - $90 + installation
Hood vents (pair) - $180 + installation

You could definately get a better deal from someone here or on Ebay and install the stuff yourself to save a few bucks. However, beware there are a lot of knock-off with sub-par quality. Hope this helps.

1. You're really not far from Hunting Beach or South Coast...both have HUGE west coast reputations. Make the drive. The 57fwy isn't that bad in either direction

2. No idea on pricing, sorry. Here in AZ the MR was sitting for 41k but had packages pre-installed. I didn't pay much attention because I was very specific about wanting a GSR + Sight n' Soun + Sun n' Leather

3. Carmax seems like a good way to check, wouldn't hurt to bounce numbers off of edmunds and KBB. But both are rarely applicably acknowledged by dealers.

4.Local guy I know has his SSS RR spoiler for sale, but he doesn't have enough posts on this site to sell on here yet.

Lots of people sell the spoiler, so if that's all that's holding you back, you don't have much to worry about. Find the right color and might even be easier to do a trunk swap. Much cheaper than $1800 + labor

Just my opinion, but Ebay sucks. Specially for the Evo. This site and the "other" Evo forum rock for buying Evo stuff. Plus all the vendors like MAP, ETS, AMS, Buschur, etc etc etc Rock.

It might not be as cheap as people think in concept to eBay, but you'll be happier with what you buy for sure.

And thank the FSM people on this site are less scheisty than Nasioc for buying in the classifieds. Not saying people are innocent and mean no harm, but some places just breed a bad environment.

thanks all for the info. Currently i'm in talks with the status of a few evos however its clear that its in the early stages of phone tag but i will stick with it. The good news is that carmax is gonna give me more than what i was expecting for my current car so i'm in a better shape however i cant actually sale the thing till i know that i can replace my current car since its my main mode of travel..

You can definetly get an MR for less than 35k. Ive seen them around me for 27-30k. Wait for a good deal. If its 35k might as well buy a new one for 38k.

If you get the right color. I'd trade my high wing trunk lid with your MR lid.

I looked at HB and I bought at Anaheim. HB kinda turned me off for a couple of reasons. One, they would only let me test drive a used car. And two, I forget the exact details but they did one of those "shady" adds online but when you get there there the small print that made it difficult to get the price they had online. Probably normal dealer BS but it irritated me. I don't want to say what it was because it was 6 months ago and I don't want to be wrong. I just remember I wasn't happy. Anaheim let me drive a brand new car. The exact one I wanted. I traded in a Range Rover I bought from them so maybe that is why they were so nice, but I don't think so. As I recall the person that took me for the test drive didn't know I bought the Rover there. HB kinda gave me the impression that they didn't want people test driving because so many people "joy ride them". Ok I am 42 years old. I wasn't coming in for a joyride. If I was going to joyride I would be at Newport Beach Porsche!!

Carmax from what I heard doesn't give you much. Better off selling it on your own. I just never have the patience to deal with flaky people that like to lowball without looking at my car so I just trade in.

I bought my evo from sam smash at huntington beach mitsu and had absolutely no problems. I tried different dealers and he gave me the best price and let me test drive the new car. They even let you do warranty work if its modded and wont void your warranty. I love hb mitsu and will continue buying mitsus from them.

1. I'd suggest looking into Huntington or South Coast Mitsubishi. Try to contact Sam. You can easily find his number in their section of the forum.

2. I dont think you'll get it for 35k OTD but I dont know how taxes and stuff work in your state.

3. I would at least get a quote from carmax (right before buying the evo) since their offer will be good for.. I think 5-7 days. See if the dealer will offer you more, but make sure they don't charge you more on the evo to compensate. I had a scion tc that was pretty banged up they paid me double what I expected.

4. MRs dont come with the large spoilers any more. I vaguely remember someone having the dealer add the larger spoiler to it for extra $$ but I dont know how much.
