Evo X oil change

Hey guys -

It might be a silly question but what's the most miles you have gone between oil changes? I got my first oil change at around 3100-3200 miles and Im at 8190 now. I plan on ggetting an oil change in the next 100 miles; I know Im a little over the 5k interval.

I might be going to a dealer but might not. Have any dealers given you crap about going to nondealer for oil changes? Thanks.

I'm getting mine done on Saturday (3k miles). I made an appointment at a dealer. I would do it myself but I dont have a way of disposing of the oil. I dont like to dump it anywhere and dont feel like taking it to an Autozone of anything.

I was going to get it done at a local lube shop. But I will have to still buy the OEM oil filter from a dealership (or online). I did the math for buying the oil filter and then paying for the oil change at a lube shop. The dealership turns out to be about $4 bucks more. So I might as well just get it done at the dealers. And have piece of mind when it comes to warranty. And if I ever sale my car I will have excellent paperwork and records to go with it.

As for how long between changes it will be 3K for me. Some people change it more often then that. I DD mine and dont usually drive it hard. I think 3K is good.

I've sent my oil for testing a few times and found that my short 6 mile drives to and from work leave a lot of unburnt fuel in the engine oil and really dilutes it. I change mine every 2k miles now. But my car is an 08 with under 25k miles so thats still not very often lol.
I would say 5k is max I would go if you do a lot of highway driving. It cost $25 to test oil at either oil analyzers or blackstone so send some oil out if you are ever worried and want to see how broken down it is after a certain mileage.

I used to do it at every 3,000 miles but now I'm gonna do it at 5,000 miles. I don't track my car and don't drive it everyday.

Use some good Amsoil 5w30 and run it for 7500 miles or if you dare take it to 10,000
There is some people here in evom that have run the oil for 12000

Do you have some tests to show that's even safe? Gasoline and E85 especially breaks oil down fast. Thats why you change oil regularly. I'm not saying Amsoil is bad I just would love to see the proof.
