2010 Evo X - First impressions and Build
Hey everyone. I posted in the local forum but I wanted to toss something on the general forum too. I've been a member here for a LONG time. A quick story..
Had a Evo IX..Loved it... did 390 with an FPred and supporting mods... Crashed it...
The natural progression from a high HP AWD car is a even higher HP RWD car... With the money I got for the Evo I went out and picked myself up a 94 Supra. Built it over the past couple years with a lot of help from ISP racing..A lot of help is an understatement..ISP basically built it for me... Did 732/648 on their dyno.. The build and mods are on their website... anyway.. Pic of the supra below..

While the Supra is always in the shop getting more and more work done.. My daily was dying a slow painful death...
I ended up swapping it for a 2010 Evo X with about 32k miles on the odometer..

Crap Pic..but everyone has seen an Evo X before I'm sure..
My initial impressions were as followed..
1.) The turbo freaking dies above 5500 RPM..I felt like boost just stopped dead in its tracks..
2.) Not a big fan of the clutch..but honestly..I think I bought it with a bad clutch..
Bought it Sunday..Friday took it to Greg at UCS performance.. His guys looked over it and told me everything that had been done to it before.. Then they installed the GM 3 point solenoid... I had Seyla (MadMsheen) load up a basemap for me..
WOW. Night and day difference. The car pulls all the way to red line. Moral of the story is..I'm glad to be back in the Evo community..I missed it..and a big thank you to Greg and crew and UCS and MadMsheen..I look forward to working with you guys..
Sorry for the novel..I like to start threads and then update them to track my progress as I work on a car..
