Busted window, my options are what?

Last night the girlfriends purse got stolen out of the car, passenger window and glass everywhere . For those who've experienced it, what are my options for replacing the window?

Is the lancer window the same specs or is should I get ready to open up the wallet for a hiked up "Evo X" window?

Dang, they're about 600 bucks b/c they're an inch shorter than a regular lancer. (insert ample sarcasm) Seriously though, you just need to call an auto glass company.

I would definitely check with you insurance company depending on which route you want to go. Also depending on your deductable, and there is a slight chance you can get your moneys worth back from what was inside your gf's purse.

Most insurance companies have 100% glass coverage so I'd check with them first or check your policy.

Just break the other side, it'll match then.

Try and find out if your insurance policy won't ding your rates and/or find yourself with an incident listed on your carfax report especially if you have plans in the future to sell the car. I bought my previous car (an 08 STi) knowing the previous owner's crazy/jealous/stupid girlfriend keyed the heck out of one of his fenders. He fixed it with his insurance but that ended up on the carfax report. you can imagine what happened to my resale value.

Sometime it's just best to pay for it upfront. Ends up cheaper in the long run.

If you claim it on your insurance and you don't have other claims it likely won't effect your rates. As it really isn't your fault.

Seriously just call insurance or call a place like Safelight for a quote.

I'm going to call on Monday, both my insurance and safelite. Not too keen on it having to be a exact replacement from Mitsu.

If the window itself isn't more than my deductible than won't claim, but if I can get what was taken replace it'd be worth the claim.

I would think that you could report this under your Comprehensive coverage. Do you have a full glass replacement? I had a cracked windshield on my Toyota Corolla. Got it fixed w/o having my rates go up. What is your deductible on your Comprehensive coverage? Hopefully you will get this worked out. And, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest the armpits of those jerks who broke into the car.

I may be crazy but I am pretty sure that Ive read that along with the aluminum hood, fenders and roof for weight savings, the Evo glass side glass is thinner than normal glass. I would definately check it out and go for OEM glass for an EVO.
