Revs jump to 2k on start up after Milspec TB install

Hey guys so i just finished installing my Milspec ported 64 mm throttle body, im having a slight issue, on start up my revs jump to about 2k, why is that? Im getting tuned at COBB Socal next Saturday the 20th so in no way do i plan to run untuned, i will also be installing other parts. Will COBB be able to fix this while im getting tuned?

I had a similar prob with 70mm TB, turned out it was the TPS, which I believe is a fairly common issue.

soo...is this normal because of more air flowing in the TB?

Is your check engine light on? Could be some type of rev hang, which usually occurs for limp mode.... Reset ecu and see if it goes away. (Easiest way to do this is pop hood and unplug both ecu connectors for 15 seconds and plug back in)

Completely normal, you've installed a larger throttle body which allows for more airflow. You need to give your ECU time to learn and adjust. My idle is rock solid at 650RPM with the Mil.Spec, your ECU will make the necessary corrections after a little bit of driving/idling. There is nothing for you to manually adjust. Hopefully you did use a new gasket though.

My car idles and drives as smooth as stock. Stock cams, proper aftermarket parts selection, and good tuning is all you need.

Well ima keep driving it to let the ECU learn the new TB, also might disconnect the battery for a few minutes to let it reset, and im using the stock gasket, is that bad?

You reused the stock gasket? If so, get a new one. They are one time use crush gaskets. Definitely reset the ECU, it's easier for the ECU to learn from scratch.

I'm on Milspec too.
Does the rpm hunt? Mine has a particular hunting at a specific rpm range.
Clutch in to neutral at 2000rpm to slow down & the revs will hunt between 800 rpm to 1500 tpm 3 times before coming to a stable idle.
Any other rpm ranges when you clutch in n leave it to neutral it would be perfectly normal What could be wrong?

Yes Sir! I did use a brand new gasket to go along with it.
Is there any throttle maps adjustment to be done other than the normal afr & timing tuning?

Or are there any fine adjustments to be made to cater for the idle & to eradicate the hunting?

Thanks!
