I'd say Tactrix cable, Evoscan, and a Wideband would be my #1 priorities.....

If you really self tune and know where it shines over the stock ECU, sure go ahead and get the AP. But there's better ways to spend the money at this point if you ask me.

(Also congrats on your purchase, I got mine yesterday!)

Edit. Delete. I don't know how, but my post was supposed to be in a different thread.

I was thinking more along the lines of running the stage 1 map and the fact that from what I have read, its a little more convenient. Basically I am looking to get a little more power from the car before I get an actual custom tune. Should I just stick to getting bolt ons?

The AP is a good way to start if you want to keep things simple. Sure evoscan might be better but my purposes the AP is WAY more than enough. You warranty might be on the line tho so keep that in mind.

I did an intake because I wanted to hear the turbo spool, and I'm not a fan of the AP, but at least it can grow with your needs up to a protune

That was my first mod on the Evo. It definitely made a huge difference on how the car behaved. My goals with the car as far as mods are concerned is just to have a quick daily driver that I could have some fun in. If I wanted to build a beast I would want more tuning control than the AP lets you have. But if you're like me and slowly buying parts as you go, then Cobb's staged tunes should be enough as you add more performance parts.

Thanks!

I guess what I am getting at ultimately this is going to be my DD. At this point, Im not super concerned with numbers in regards to WHP/WTQ. Later on in the build, definitely. I just want to know that I could feel the difference as I go through the rounds of mods. This is what I was thinking:

Round 1 (Timeframe : asap)
AP w/ stage 1 map
Drop-in
CBE
Visual mods, as they come.

Round 2 (Timeframe 1yr -2yr)
UICP
HFC
02/DP
Intake
intercooler
Stage 2 Map

Round 3 (Timeframe 3yr+)
3port
turbo
fuel upgrades
Custom Tune

Round 4 (timeline: ?)
BUILD EVERYTHING!

Will the AP allow me to feel the difference in the first couple rounds of mods? Im looking more of a convenience factor more than anything. I have very little time to actually take it to a shop to get it tuned or learn to tune my self(super busy).

Sorry for the noob question, Just want to make sure that I do this right instead of just throwing parts at my car.

It's a good start, a Stage 1 map will make a nice increase over stock even on an unmodifed car.

Sounds like the Accessport is perfect for someone with your goals and needs. I think you have a well laid out plan for your goals.

sorry to burst the bubble on this one.

but AP doesn't have defintions yet for the 2012.. the only option right now you have is Evo Scan.

Unless you protune with the AP, if you are doing that, then I think its easier to do Evoscan via Tactrix.

Ok.... so you don't like the AP? no reason to just make up untruths. There are many people that have 2012's Evos using the AP.
