Drive thru car wash
Drive thru car wash
i have a 11 GSR with the Aero pkg and stock suspension, just wanted to know will it clear the drive thru car wash don't want the front spoiler to rip off.
Anyone with aero pkg that takes it to the car wash and has no problem ?
I know I know most of you are saying why drive thru, but I don't have time to wash it myself and the hand car wash places charge $20 bucks and wouldn't mind saving $10 bucks and quicker in and out.
Thanks

Never use a car wash. Left over dirt from the previous car is going to mar and scratch the crap out of your paint.
During the winter especially, I use the car wash just for the pressure wash. I pressure wash the car myself, paying close attention to the undercarriage, wheel wells, and door jambs. After that I just head home and hand wash my car (unless they allow you to hand wash your car there).
I would honestly rather spend an extra few bucks to keep my paint pristine, than to have it look like someone sandblasted it.

Touchless are fine, they do not get a DIRTY car very clean though.
If I'm at my apt I just bring bucket and sponges and Handwash in the bay providing there is not a line of people waiting

Ok ok I get you all
Like one of you said I'd rather wait and just wash it by hand.
Well that's what I did today took it to a hand car wash and it came out spotless.
Thanks again and yes $20 bucks but worth it, I'll just skip lunch tomorrow lol

Spend the money, don't use automatic car washes. It takes a whole hour tops to wash the car by hand. Automatic car washes destroy your paint and we have crappy enough paint already.

...and people complain that it rains after going through a carwash.
Yesterday, I went through a touchless carwash then spent about 45 minutes hand washing and vacuuming it out...only to be stopped at the second red light on my way home and got rear-ended by someone that "thought" the light was green

Tunnel automatic wash... never again. After going against every gut feeling I decided to go through. After the wash I was hand drying my car and I felt a rough edge on my wheel. After closer inspection, I noticed that the wheel guide for the wash had put a pinky fingernail dent/tear on the outer lip of the wheel. So disappointed in my decision. Hand wash and hand dry... on your own if possible as no-one appreciates your car the way you do.
I don't recommend these types of car washes. Plus the mechanism that captures the wheels and draws the car through the wash aren't all the same height. So in one place your car could clear at another it might damage your front lip.
Yea the Touchless ones in my area the car is stationary and the unit moves around the car
Those that move your car along I would def stay away from with any sporty wheel and tire set up
