Wire question..

So I was replacing my shift boot and I was looking at this wire and figured out it doesn't plug into to anything but some plastic piece. Does anyone know what this is used for?

i think it may be for the heated seat controls. My 2010 had heated seats and that looks like the same connection for the switch. If i find any pictures ill let you know

I had a 2010 X SE which had the tc-sst like the MR. For the SST there is a switch that gets connected to illuminate the the panel (P,R,N,D) and another switch that gets connected for the SPORT Mode switch. Both connectors are smaller than the one in your picture. In the picture you posted the connection looks more like its the one that wouldve been to heated seats

It's for the AWC switch.

This is the right answer. On 2008s that harness clips to the bottom of the coin holder. In 2010+ the AWC switch is down there in place of the coin holder.

I know it clips below the coin holder but it connects to a plastic piece? It doesn't do anyhing.

It's just to keep it out of the way. You can replace the coin holder with the AWC switch and it connects to it
