Cat->TP: Tune?

Cat->TP: Tune?
It's OK to thrash me for not searching, but I just wanna know if a retune is absolutely needed when removing the catalytic convertor and going to a test pipe on my daughter's totally stock 2008 Evo X MR?

no, a retune is not needed. Of course you will get more out of it with a tune but its not needed. However a fouler will need to be installed or your tune changed to turn the rear o2 sensor off. Your CEL come on due to no cat.
