Dog Dented My Rear Aluminium Panel

So this happened just a few days before Christmas and I was pretty angry that the dog owner didn't properly leash up their dog. I was driving pretty slowly when the dog came out of nowhere towards my car. I reacted by swerving and braking and if you watch the video, right at the last minute he changes his direction but somehow couldn't stop and smacks the side of my rear quarter panel leaving me a nice Christmas ding. He was perfectly fine and chased my car down the rest of the block :freak:

I didn't want to go the route of claiming and repainting, and decided to try out paintless dent repair, but was a little worried since it was on the body line and the fact that it was aluminium.

Here's a shot of the guy working at it 1 hour in and it's already much better!

And the finished product below! Overall, I'm happy with the end results and I'd say that it's 99% fixed and only noticable if I point it out and you start dissecting it. Even if I took it to a repair shop to get it filled and sanded, it may not have turned out as good as this.

Nice. I had a PDR guy do a 3" crease in my STi's front fender that was through the crease in the aluminum and it came out like it was never there. Some of these guys work miracles!!

He's here in Vancouver Canada. There's probably some PDR people in your area. Do your research to make sure they're good at what they do. My guy made our local news in a positive way

Yeah, this guy has a picture of a brand new STI that got a dent on the crease on his website. Before and after must have made that owner happy too!

Rear quarter panel is not aluminium last time I checked. That dog must have skidded hard into your car, even from the sounds of it he probably has a good bruise on his head.

yeah, I think you're right that it's not aluminium. He seemed to be fine enough to chase me down the block after!

Roof, hood, and front fenders.

But we're going to cut the OP some slack because, being Canadian, he or she spelled "aluminium" correctly.

I figured it out. The dog wasn't necessarily chasing you. He saw an Evo and said, "OMG COOL CAR!" Then he thought it would be a good idea to hump it, like he humps every one else's legs. Apparently it didn't pan out the way he planned.

My theory is validated if that was a male dog also. evo=sausage magnet for every species.
