Help me!!! Service light.
This post is text book AYC pump.
The AYC pump doesn't hold up well in sub-freezing temps. If the pump froze and he drove it, it likely popped the internal seals on it. There have been lots of cases where this is addressed under warranty by Mitsu, and some cases where people were out of warranty or were denied for other mods.
Either way, the alert symbol is for the AYC, and not being able to engage gravel or snow mode is the dead give away. I was trying to be funny with my Spidey post, but, yeah the AYC pump died from the 22degF temps.
I live around Phx so my winter lows are night-time 37deg and day-time 65deg. But, if I did live on the east coast, mid-west, or some place with real weather like you guys. I would of done an insulation wrap around the pump in the trunk or one of those oil-pan heaters installed around the pump if my car was ever going to be parked uncovered outside for more than like 6 hours at a time.

Yeah, makes sense that if the car is driving, I'm sure there's enough heat to keep it healthy. I suspect this happens when an Evo is parked in the cold probably with snow or moisture packed up under where the pump is or on the lines going to the rear-diff.
It's why my guess, and what I would do if I didn't live in hell (aka Phx, AZ) is using the heating pads for oil pans on the diff and pump when it's parked.
I'm sure people that park in a garage don't experience it either.

Sorry but your AYC/ACD pump has decided it no longer wants to live. The failure code is C161E and your dealer should be able to pull it.
It's a known cold weather issue and the only remedy is to have the pump replaced or rebuilt. The good news is you can still drive the car with no issues whatsoever you just won't be able to use the tarmac, gravel, snow selector.
It's happened to a lot of 08's and mine was no exception having failed on -9 degree day. GL.

It's not just that the selector won't work; it's that the selector is irrelevant because the center is wide open and the AYC isn't working.
....fails in freezing temps...great idea mitsu ... build a car with snow mode with parts that cant handle sub freezing temps...ugh i just get more and more disapointed the longer i own this car as far as maintenance.. and repairs
Here's an alternative to replacing the pump. It still isn't cheap but it's cheaper than replacing it.

After my dyno tune, if I floor the car fast, the engine light comes on. It's because the original setting wasn't meant to handle such power. So i eventually learned to gently push the gas pedal. I dont know if this helps but if it's something similar i wouldn't worry about it

If you have the Tephra mod it can flash your CEL to indicate knock.
...however if you just got dyno tuned and your car you doing as you say, it sounds like your tune might need double checking.

The light will come on if you hit 30 psi. Well the second pick you posted. You can tune that out with tephra. Not the light if something is wrong but it won't throw your your car into limp mode. Asc off light could be that.
whats up guy's sorry it took a while to get back on here. So i went the dealership and had them check it out. They came back and told me that the pump was working good and had no issues what was making the light go off was the steering wheel sensor that was off. So they calibrated the sensor and charged me $100 bucks. when i drove it off the lot the light came on again :[ The light since has gone away but now it comes on when my car drives on snow its so annoying and i m about to sell my X and get a STI OR EVO 9 STUPID EVO X TECHNOLOGY hate it.

did to your car.
Second I would find a reputable dealer, or a performance shop to diagnose your car.
I am sorry to say this but you got screwed by a dealer that didn't know what they were doing.
Don't blame the car and fall into the same crap most owners go into that thinking the grass appears greener on the other side.
STI/Suburu's have their share of issues as well.
First of all your going to sell your car based on what a dealership ( which most of them don't know what they are doing to start off with)

I am just going to have my shop look at it but the thing is my shop the only one i trust in Utah don't have the software to hook it up to my car . Will evo scan work on my car .
