ETS and I, a match made in heaven

I think this is my first post but I have been reading the forum for a while now. I always found the answers to my questions so never needed to post.

Anyway, I been debating on what parts, what manufacturer, what set up, etc etc. I finally decided to go with ETS. I also decided to go through a local shop to order my parts so I didnt have to worry about going to the post office to pick it up plus I wanted to establishment a relationship with this shop for when I tune and future mods. I ordered the ETS V2 extreme exhaust, intake, open dump downpipe, test pipe, exhaust manifold, intercooler and intercooler piping(upper and lower). All ETS. I already know its going to be LOUD, so no need to reiterate.

After these mods and a tune I plan on turning my attention to the suspension, clutch and exterior. Currenlty I have an Accessport and HKS drop in. Also, I just recently plasti-dipped my wheels black.

So now to the purpose of my post apart from generally introducing myself to everyone, I will be installing everything myself. Any pointers?

Lastly, I am in Georgia(Near ATL) and going to Zen motors for tune and advice. Thanks everyone for all the questions you answered in previous posts and didnt even know it!!!

Get a decent breaker bar, some PB blaster, jack stands, and as crazy as it sounds some astroglide. I used the astro glide to lube the bushings to get off the old exhaust and put on the new exhaust. It's water based so there is no need to worry about it ruining anything and it can easily be washed away since it's water soluble. I also cut some 2 x 6 wood into little blocks to place under the jack stands to prevent damage to the drive way and also placed one on the jack to pretect the under carraige of the car when jacking it up. If you want to get crazy place the boxes that everything came in under the car to prevent any pb blaster from damage the drive way as well. And yes used astroglide and get off in the sentence lol

WAKE UP THE NEIGHBORS LOUD

The DP sucks to install. Give yourself plenty of downtime because you will prolly need to coat everything in PB Blaster and let it sit a while. Everything else should be fine. If you have done mods yourself before, it's pretty straight forward. The catback, TP, intercooler and piping are all a breeze..

Actually, it might go easier since you are installing a manifold too. It will prolly give you more room to work with..

Also, be prepared for your neighbors to hate you.

Like everyone else said, the downpipe is probably one of the worse mods to install. PB blaster will be your best friend. Thanks for the support and your mod list is looking good. Also digging the plastidip wheels.

Like what everyone have said, DP's are a pain to install. After reading horror and successful stories, I opted to have it installed in a muffler shop. Then again, living in CA, (4) shops in my area refused the install since it does not have a CARB number!

Congratulations with ETS parts, you cant go wrong with them. Post some numbers when done.

Ah the memories of my DP install.. bloody knuckles.. cursed the wind multiple times, broke one of my extensions - yeah.. it was impossible. I couldn't get 1 of the bolts out so i had to put the others back on and take it to shop haha..

Pretty clear you have!! A nice change compared to most who ask the same question over and over.

You won't be disappointed with ETS. Check out my sig for some install tips on the intake and UICP install.

If you plan on having the car dyno tuned, I would definitely get the car on the dyno stock so you can see what kind of progress that your mods made. Just my opinion.

man ive done some extensive modding in my time and you guys really make the dp install sound like a pain. But to the op this is my course of action too once i start modding the car except ill be going suspension first. im going to keep the power train warranty for as long as possible.

I cant wait to hear it either.
