Safe not getting tune?

Okay so I ordered full AMS bolt ons, Full exhaust, intake, intercool, piping. I want to install it all myself to save some money. Will I be fine driving down to AMS (1 1/2 hours) without a tune after the installation. I will be driving to AMS to get the car tuned but im just making sure that the car will be fine making that trip without a new tune? Thanks

Yeah, as long as you keep a light foot, there shouldn't be any problems.

Are you sure AMS will even tune your car. Last time i talked to AMS a few days ago they said they were only tuning cars they build currently

just stay out of the boost. If you go WOT you will overboost. If you drive easy the only thing ****ed up is your fuel trims.

Yeah, this! ^

I know one guy who got his parts installed by them and got them to tune it, and he said it was still a pain in the a$$ to get them to tune it.

I havent contacted them at all, just assumed you could get it tuned there because they have tuning prices online, not cheap either!

I spoke with one of the guys for AMS and as long as it's only bolt on items (Intake, Turbo-Back, IC Pipings, & intercooler) they will tune the car. However, you will need to get a CobbAccess PORT, otherwise they won't tune it of off your ECU.

That's crazy...why do you have to buy an accessport to get a ecu tune. If I were you I would find another reputable tuner. I love AMS products but that's crazy.

I called Andrew at AMS this morning to get a few parts and asked him about tunning the Evo X. He confirmed again that they will do it, but only on a Cobb AccessPORT. I believe the reason for this is due to liability issues.

I searched forum most people say with bolt ons you need a tune ASAP bc I'm planning six hour trip to Cobb, they told me same, I'm technician and I can't pay labor when I can do it my self

What are the liability issues? They USE to tune using ecuflash.
