So need a little advice on purchase

I know that there is the "Is this a good price" thread but after poking through it and seeing some who've said, "I got mine for $35K OTD" with 1 post, I'm going to ask in a separate thread -- mods, if this is an issue, drop me a note.

So I'm heading back from Afghanistan in about 5 weeks. Trying to secure my Evo before I get home so the wife can have it in the garage waiting for me with a giant bow on it! Plus, I want to start ordering parts so I can spend my vacation time tinkering.

Dealership in South Florida...I've purchased 3 vehicles from them to include an 06 Evo MR. We've been going back and forth over e-mail and unfortunately, I don't have that luxury to just walk out and say no thank you.

I'm in a pickle right now as I'm looking at a NEW 2012 PB GSR. Options are the SS package, interior package, and wheel locks...I could care less about the latter two.

They're giving me a price of $35,500 BEFORE tax, tag, and title. Tax in Miami is 7% and my tag just needs transferred. So we're looking at around $38K for this critter out the door. My "happy price" is $37,500.

First...Too much to spend out the door on the car with those options? Second...I would feel better spending that on a 13 versus a 12. I originally said if they gave me OTD $35K, I'd have my wife go write a check that day -- no dice. Should I just suck it up and wait til I get home?

Thanks!

Apparently I've been gone too long...Haven't seen this but it looks hot -- can't justify that for a Golf though.

Don't get the 12.. Why in the world would you do that? The price isn't enticing what so ever. I got my 2012 WW with SS and Navi for 39 OTD. Not a awesome deal but not a bad deal either. I'm pretty sure you can find a better deal but you need to be patient.

Yeah...I'm totally not sold on it just for the way they are being. Usually I can "muscle" my price by just walking out. This is a little more difficult. I'll see what they say today.

I think it's Gerald Jones Mitsubishi. They have a 2013 PB too but I think it's the base model. Look up "Augusta GA Mitsubishi" and it should pull up..

Do a little looking on truecar, edmunds, autotrader, etc. They will give you an idea of what you shuld realistically be buying a car for. Otherwise you're just negotiating for the sake of negotiating.

First off, thanks for serving and being over there kickin ***. Doesn't matter what your job and rate is...

As far as deals go with my experiences it helps to physically be there. What I notice is you can muscle your deal as much as possible and when you do the, "hmmmm... I don't know.... let me think about it...." then they start throwing out numbers and deals... Then you can keep second guessing your decision on a new car and then next thing you know they're throwing in whatever they can to get you home in a new car

Check out the Mitsubishi dealer at DeLand Florida. I got my 2012 there last year for 33k, SS and interior package included. Ended up at 35k out the door.
