Is an EVO X right for me?
SSS was only a 2008 package. All of the 2010+ came with the larger wing. It's now just Sight and Sound. That's a hell of a deal you got, even for a 2011!
My fault yea from what the dealer salesman told me the person before me who had it was an older guy (late 30s) who just bought his dream car but started to have knee problems an had to get surgery soo had to get rid of it BUT this is whats funny also when i saw the car on autotrader it said 300 miles when i got it it said 800 which I'm like whatever its a couple more but his answer was ohh a salesman must have been driving it back an forth to work for awhile

Either way 12,000 miles later stage 2 no problems besides a scruff mark on the bottom front bumper lip dude before me must have bottom out the car or the person from the dealer driving it

Going for a test drive. Not immediately because I'll probably love it & wont be able to wait until my planned purchase date. Until then, there is more research to be done. I appreciate the honesty.

Im just speaking from my experience... I did the same thing with my IX i was 21, had a good down payment was able to cover payments from my job. But my current job wasn't my career. After I graduated, I took a good job in my field and was making really good money. Then this was the first time I heard of a furlough. The economy is rough. Eventually laid off.. Now I was stuck without a job and 400 dollar car payment... Not to mention, rent, insurance, and other bills..
This probably wont happen to you.. but it is always good to be on the safe side... Try and save up as much as you can and trade in your DD... That would probably set you up to be in a better position. Just my thoughts.

Don't buy an e46 m3.... I had one which I traded in for my Evo x and the Evo is 10 times the car with 100 times less maintenance costs.... Things break on the old e46 and are very costly to repair/replace
2500 for a clutch job.....
Let that sink in for a minute.....
And the vanos unit is a hand grenade with no pin in it from the factory....

Kind of a tough spot to be in...you put in your time with school, bills, etc...now with graduation you feel it's time to play, and definitely well deserved. If you just had the car to worry about, I'd say go for it - the things that make it iffy are the house that's included as well. A new FRS/ BRZ isn't that bad, might be the more reasonable choice here. Test drive those first before the Evo...because coming from an Accord, the Evo will be hard to compare anything else to. GL
So I was doing a little extra research & people are not saying too many nice things about Mitsu's warranties and dealers. Not to mention that for their Turbo cars the coverage is halved & the powertrain warranty voids when the car transfers to a 2nd owner.
Makes wanting a '12+ for the warranty feel kind of stupid. Can anyone chime in on this? From what I understand, X's shouldn't break unless you beat on them. Which I certainly will not. Should I spring for a low mileage '10+ instead and try to save a few thousand bucks?

I bought my Evo X a month ago and love it! Perfect daily car, it has all the creature comforts I was looking for. Fit and finish isn't amazing but good enough. I had an S2000 and 2 E36 M3s one of which was supercharged, All had different things about them that I loved and hated. But overall, so far the Evo is my favorite. Now I will say I'm 20, and my insurance costs me $225/month and that is the cheapest full coverage insurance I could find! So insurance is going to kill you!
Also I wouldn't waste any time doing auto x, my step dad owns The Drivers Edge a pretty big high performance driving school here in Texas. And I have never heard one of our customers ever say they were glad they did auto x first, in fact most say they will never go back to an auto x. On top of that I have driven a ton of different cars ranging from miatas to lamborghinis and the Evo Xs are a blast, esp. if you throw some Ohlins on one!
hell yeah! No wife and kids right? WTF why worry just do it. I sure as hell wouldn't lease one tho cause modding is required and addictive.
For autocrossing a used s2k would be sweet tho and you wouldn't be tempted to mod so much...my X got my 07 S2K..tears, my S2k was a lot more exciting stock than my new evo x, but mods have cured that
