Timing Chain Issue 5k miles eh? 2012 Evo X
Yea, That's the bad part is its my daily driver.. Guess i'll drive it until something messes up. Apparently the dealer is the only with the right tool to read our cars? Sorry, For the noob questions just what going off what i've been told. Trying to to a little bit of reading up just not finding much lol.
The main tech is out on surgery till next Thursday. And apparently no one else is trained to work on "warrantied" cars.. Next dealership is 2hrs away. I bought extended warranty from Honda. I wonder if Honda can do the work?

. They could come back and say that the previous shop jacked something up and deny an entire warranty over it. You're safe to drive with the tpms out. They are just tire pressure sensors, that are apparently missing (replaced with regular valve stems or the tune is for another set of sensors). You're fine to drive it. The odds of you having a timing chain issue in a 2012 is slim to none. The 2012 has the updated timing chain and tensioner.
There is no problem with the timing chain. That is not the "triangle" that is triggered. There is just a dead sensor.. The car is prefectly fine to drive. It will just be annoying with those lights on.
If you just bought it and have put less than 50 miles on it or something, than it is missing sensors. If you have driven more than say a couple hundred miles, then yes a sensor just died.
Check out Bartec's website (bartecusa.com). They sell the Bartec 400SD that will work on the TPMS for the X. They should have a map or something of the shops around you that will have one.. If there is any. It would literally take like 5 mins for them to see if the sensors are missing or if one is dead. They won't even have to touch the car.

I had a slow leak for 2 weeks before I could get it taken care of and the Tire Pressure alert is different. Same PIC and Triangle but wording is different.
The Owners Manual actually tells you that this message will come up if there is a problem with one or multiple TPMS units such as bad pairing or dead TPMS.
Negatory - that is a lost TPMS sensor connection message. TPMS may be dead or it may just have lost its pairing. Case in point car no longer reads one or more TPMS units.

And I only regularly experience the lights being on when running a separate set of wheels without tpms.
Bottomline is that this dude's problem is minor.
You can just take it to discount tire and have them check it for you for free if it really is the tpms. Somehow my wife's nissan quest tpms in one tire got screwed up and stopped reading from within the car. Took it to discount tire and they hooked up the computer(looks like obdII) and relearned it back in.
def your tire pressure sensors. I have the same message all the time since I'm running my aftermarket wheels/tires. I left the tpm sensors in my oem wheels.

I haven't seen anyone post this yet, but - Does the car have its stock rims/tires? Its quite possible that if you are using another set of rims, they may not even have the mitsu TPS installed. My tire-shop told me once, the tps have to be the mitsu ones for this car - not some generic sensor.
Because they are expensive, some people choose not to install them on their after-market rims and drive with the light on.

That's not true anymore. There are sensors that will work other than OEM. But you need a tool relearn the car to them.
And some people have said in this thread already, he is either missing sensors or one is dead.
