catback Tips and info

I saw this on ebay and compared it to other brands like APEX-i, HKS and INVIDIA. a friend of mine owns this catback and says he hasnt had major problems and works wonderfully, he has AMS intake, AMS downpipe with wideband Custom testpipe made from a local mufflershop. his next upgrade is AMS U/LICP and AMS intercooler.

has anyone else used this or have heard of this?

thanks guys =)

never heard of it but i'm sure its lighter than oem.. Also 3" exhaust ANY brand will flow better than oem imo. No real big prob w/ buying an off named brand exhaust if ur on a budget.

I'm pretty sure it's this exhaust system. http://www.specdtuning.com/mfcat3-lan08t-sd.html

I've never heard of it but it looks like a good exhaust system for the price. The only thing that would bother me is it tapers down to 2.5'' where it meets the catalytic converter.

You get what you pay for I suppose, but I guess if the welds are clean and strong then you're really just buying a bent SS pipe. I love the full titanium exhausts (considering how heavy our cars are), but I just wish they weren't so pricey.

i just saw the vid you guys linked and well, i talked to the same guy who did the custom test pipe for my friends evo and he said the exhaust was actually very nicey built and would recommend it. and he can cut off the 2.5 and make his own fitting to attatch to the custom 3.0 or 3.5 testpipe. he would charge me 80 bucks for a full aluminum testipe with a wideband fitting. i told him the AMS downpipe comes with one already.

but thank you all for your opinions!

there is still a downstream 02 bung on the test pipe though. It was on the cat so if your testpipe dont have at least one you'll def need a bung. Keep that in mind

HOLY!!!!!! I bought mine for 180 New off ebay. It was defently worth 180.... welds are not the prettiest.... slight misalighnment of pipes. Exhaust hangs retarded low. but...... It does its job. I guess I got the first gen(if theres such a thing) cause mine has a three inch flange to the cat. I also had to man handle the alighnment with a tree and two guys. It was off by a 1/4 on an inch on one side. For as much as they are asking for now???? not worth it on my opinion. Its polished steel 3inch piping with crush bends and hangs too low.

now looking at the video..... not a lot has changed. Theres still tooling marks all over the pipes. welds still look like someone was training that day. the 2 1/2 flange is a nice touch but they should have honestly dropped the size of the pipe to a 2 3/4 or 2 1/2 after the "y" section so they can bend it a little higher into the undercarriage. Still not worth almost 400

Yeah, I am going to get it, i love that there are hardly any bends on this exhaust, AND! I found out this design is copied from "Tanabe Medalion Concept G Blue". its made out of the exact same materials only at 80% less of the cost.

I do however plan on getting the Amuse catback when income tax arrives, for now, i can use this guy. Or who knows, maybe i wont need a $3000 exhaust.

nothing like Tanabe....... nothing. I can go on and on about the differences. biggest difference is the welds..... my welds are rusted to no end.

^ if thats the case, Then that would be the exhaust I would get after this one around feb- march. incometax season.

tanabe would be my next choice. I would do HKS, I love HKS, but it bends into a big muffler. I like the Agency exhaust too, its straight and hardly any bends.
