Do you mind pointing out where it bottle necks? Aftermarket ones yield little to no gains, its not worth $250+. The only way i would buy one was if the stock one would leak from too much boost. The intercooler piping the opposite from the 8/9, the uicp is worth while while the oem licp is pretty sound.

Post #6 and thays not the only place I have read it. Dobt get me wrong the upper is important but you mine as well do both so that one side is not more turbulent then the other. If you look at the stock lower pipipiping it looks as if a 2.5in pipe was welded to a consecutively smaller pipe over and over till the couplar attaching to the fmic that's a big bottleneck.

im sorry i dont see what you mean, on the X theres nothing welded to the licp. The oem licp on the 8/9 has what your describing as seen in this picture.

We get the upgraded uicp because the oem one balloons under too much boost and can pop off. Having the hard pipe avoids this and increases respons.

Isn't more then the lower intercoolee hose. The actual hose material and not hard piping? Would that maybe where the loss of boost is escapes?

The guy with the bottle neck is the lower pipe is a 8/9 car. The X doesn't have a huge restriction in flow. The X's restriction in flow is the upper intercooler pipie. The upper pipe starts out at 1.75" and expands to 2.5". This is a huge bottle neck due to the outlet being 1.75" and not 2.5"

Thanks!

Michael

Another tune required after MAP cast manifold with vehicle already having car delete

Question. Got my 2008 Evo X and dealer didn't know much about it. Found that it has been cat deleted and car runs amazing (assuming it's been tuned after the cat deleted). My question is that it does still have the stock exhaust manifold on it and I was wanting to replace it with the MAP cast manifold to upgraded it. Wanting to leave the vehicle as close to stock as possible but with upgraded parts. Back to the question being if I put the MAP cast manifold on, would I need to get it tuned. I don't care for gain from the manifold, I just want a better stock replacement and it not mess anything up. Talked to MAP and they stated a tune wasn't required after Installation of manifold but that was before I found out it was cat deleted. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

If you haven't bought it, skip and go for the ARTEC unit (IMO - see my build and comparison of them). If you DID buy it, then there are some additional hardware items they don't provide that you need for a proper long term successful install. As for tune or not; it won't matter if it is fine now it will be then too with either manifold replacement; not enough airflow change at all.
