2008-2013 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Recalled For Clutch Failure
http://www.thecarconnection.com/news...clutch-failure
Mitsubishi is recalling a number of Lancer Evolution vehicles from the 2008-2013 model years. The recall targets cars built between December 12, 2007 and March 5, 2013. According to a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall affects 10,474 vehicles in the U.S.
The recall stems from a problem with the Lancer Evolution's clutch master cylinder. Though NHTSA doesn't explain the underlying defect, the bulletin notes that in some vehicles, the clutch master cylinder can fail. If that were to happen, drivers would find it difficult -- if not impossible -- to shift gears. That, in turn, could cause an accident.
Mitsubishi says that it will begin alerting owners to the recall by November 11 of this year. After receiving the recall notice, owners will be able to take their vehicles to Mitsubishi dealers, who will replace the clutch master cylinders at no cost.
If you own one of the affected vehicles, we encourage you to contact Mitsubishi at 888-648-7820 and ask about recall campaign SR-13-009. Alternately, you can call NHTSA at 888-327-4236 and inquire about recall #13V446000.

What about those of us who have already had our's fail and replaced it at our own expense bc we were out of warranty?
BTW, I replaced with the AMS that is built using the metal Evo9 OE cylinder rather than the awful plastic EvoX OE cylinder.
