Hey guys. Recently I bought a 2014 MR with nav. Sometimes when I'm driving I hear a loud chime. It does not coincide with any message or change in the displays as far as I can tell. Sometimes I hear it multiple times on a short trip, other times I don't hear it at all. Any ideas what it could be?

Nope, it is one single chime. That's it, no repeats.

 

Please don't take this the wrong way, but did your prescription for lithium recently run out? tee hee

 

Does it go chime with your Rpms?

 

Nope. Sometimes I'm just cruising down the highway and it chimes.

 

What is the temperature outside? Every time it hits 37 degrees it chimes and gives a warning to watch for ice. It really annoys me when the temp goes up and down between 38 and 37 because it chimes every time. Thats the only thing I can think of that would make it happen.

 

My guess is the rest reminder. There would be a coffee cup displayed though. Go into the settings of the center display and turn it off. You won't find it in the nav unit. I don't remember the exact steps but the setting should have the same coffee cup next to it. Owner's manual will have more info. Mine came with it turned on by default and I ordered it new.
