Lowering Springs
Lowering Springs
Do certain brands lower the car more? i saw that the swift spec r only lower by 1.3 and 1.0 inches front and back but is there a company that lowers it more? Also i don't know anything about suspension on cars. Can I just get the lowering springs and swap them out for my stock ones or do i have to do shocks or something too? Do I have to get a wheel alignment or change anything else or can i just slap them on and go?
you will need to get an alignment after you swap springs.
generally speaking, yes, you can swap out springs and call it a day. but all you're doing is lower the center of gravity and that's pretty much it. well, depending on the springs, you might also **** with the cars geometry.
what you should do is get good performance springs and get the stock bilstein re-valved. apparently, this combo is good enough for most people. if you want to go all out, go get a nice set of coils.
lower than swift? i think eibach is lower. not sure by how much more...

Regardless of what you were trying to say, an alignment is a must after swapping springs, especially on a car with struts at either end.
I have used Progress Sport springs on my old WRX with stock struts and they provided a very low stance but kept the ride nice. And yes, get an alignment unless you don't mind your tires wearing in all the wrong places.
