Mitsubishi boost leak test

Do you guys think that the dealer has a boost leak test they would do if I asked them? I thought about doing it myself, but it is beyond what I can do mechanically.

I would think they would have too. What if a stock evo came in exhibiting signs of a boost leak. They would have to find it some way.

I wouldn't let a Mitsu Tech within 200 yards of my car

No they will have no frigging clue what you are talking about I'm sure. Just find a local to help you out or bring your car to a EVO Specialty shop

Most dealerships should have the equipment to do it, but they'll likely call it a smoke, fog, or vacuum test. It's a common diagnostic.

We use a machine for evap testing and you can use it also for and hose leaks(boost). It's just a smoke machine

So a smoke machine could be used for a boost leak test. I never thought of that. Where would you hook that up. I.e. put the smoke in?

Boost leak test's are simple. You can hook into the turbo inlet or post turbo ( upper intercooler pipe ). Pressurize the system no more than 20 psi and listen for leaks. You can either buy a tester for about 35$ or make one. I made one but ended up spending about the same amount as the ones you can buy, it was my first time though. Didn't find any leaks in my intercooler or pipes, I heard slight leaking from my cobb bpv.

they would be used for vacuum leaks at idle or stationary high idle not for a boost leak test

+1 to this
smoke machines don't work at high pressure

or, OP, you can start the car, then spray a can of starting fluid along the lines where you think there might be a leak. When the engine revs up suddenly, then taht's where the leak is.
