ETS V2 standard problem

Hello guys,

I recently installed ETS intake, testpipe, and V2 regular CBE. I'm totally satisfied with the sound but unfortunately I live in a townhouse where everyone is pretty close to each other. When I start my car in a driveway, it vibrates my windows and wall and I'm pretty sure that my neighbors felt that. Fortunately, they haven't complained so far but don't want to disturb their "peace" since one of them just had a baby.

So my question is, how much quieter is V2 quiet? I might consider swapping out my V2 regular muffler section with V2 quiet one. I will still keep my testpipe.

Also how much is to just get that V2 quiet muffler section?? As far as I understand, I won't need a retune, right?

Get the V2 Quiet and a resonated testpipe. Your neighbors will thank you Plus, you'll still be able to use your Bluetooth phone system.

Yeah, the ETS v2 reg. and a TP is ridiculously loud, I can't imagine a v2 extreme.

Before you go changing exhausts, I'd go talk to them? Say 'Hey I don't want to bother you, and am willing to change the exhaust if this is over the top...' Then let them tell you if it's a real issue or not.

Then go from there? That's being a good neighbor and also seeing if there is a problem before spending a bunch of money you may not have to.

I'm with TP and V2 Quiet.

I'd say it's still too loud. Planning to weld in Vibrant resonator into TP, because for me most sound coming from there. Really painfull drone, especially at boost.

The ETS quiet is still pretty loud. A local guy has the ETS downpipe, test pipe and quiet and I hear him from a mile away. It sounds great and I love it but its loud. If you want to quiet things down get a high flow cat.

I switched to a V2 Quiet from standard for pretty much the same reasons. Very satisfied with the sound though I'm running a HFC instead of a test pipe. I would recommend the V2 Quiet and if it doesn't lower the sound level enough switch out the test pipe for a HFC.

I'm sorry but what person would like hearing a loud exhaust buzzing around outside their home randomly in the day or night. I don't care how 'nice' it sounds. If it penetrates a person's home it is annoying to them. If they say otherwise, they're just being nice.

So far no complaints. I try to minimize the noise by starting my car and back out right away and warm up across the street.

But Idk if I already got used to the sound but my car sounds more quite compared to the first day..and the weather is way colder now..

But I thought as new exhaust breaks in, doesn't it get louder?? But I'm feeling the opposite.. One of my friends also said it sounds more quiet.. Idk lol

If someone when asked nicely if there is something bothering them and they decide to lie to me when I'm totally open to resolving it if it is an issue to them, that's their problem.

I agree about talking to them about it. But personally, I wouldn't change my exhaust to a quieter one because my neighbor hates it. Dude, just WOT up and down your street and maybe even invest in an o2 Dump?

i kid, i kid.

Speaking from experience on both my MR and GSR.

MR at first had: ETS dump o2 DP, ets test pipe with v2 regular (regretted after 2 months)
Then: MAP recirculated DP, HFC test pipe with v2 regular (still regretted it, was better than previous set up but instead of changing it again... sold the car)

GSR now: Cobb dp, ets resonated test pipe and cobb catback. I believe it actually drones which is annoying as hell (might not be the exhaust, still havent diagnosed the annoying sound, but for this instance let's say it is droning). When you step on it, it's great. Driving around without the drone i would say it's perfect for DD. However... I will be replacing this setup with MAP recirculated DP and full catless Akrapovic (akrapovic test pipe with it).

I would say, grab ets resonated test pipe and switch to v2 quite. Just because it says quite, it isn't quite compared to stock so dont worry. The exhaust note will be there!
