Just picked up a gopro and I'm wondering where some of u guys are mounting your external mics

 

i got a universal gopro suction cup mount and put my shotgun mic with a windsock over it, it depends what sound you want.. so i would either mount it in the engine bay to get more of a spooling sound or you just suction cup it over the muffler to get the exhaust noise. but i would say invest in a wind sock, they are worth every penny.. i even had a wind sock for the skeleton door on my gopro and it worked really well

 

Thx for the info. I'll look into a wind sock and at the moment I'm looking more for the engine sound but think I'll end up experimenting with both the engine and exhaust sounds. I was considering putting the mic in the engine bay but I ended up thinking it might be too loud. I'll give it a shot tho and see how it turns out.
