best cam for evo x ?

Stock turbo, full exhaust, uicp, intake, will be getting ets intercooler.
Im between gsc s1 and brian crower s2 272s. Keeping stock valve springs. Witch. One would give most hp gains for this set up. Looking to order in the next few days.

I don't know the one with the biggest gains but I saw that kaizen tuning used gsc s2s on a bone stock X and they had gained 15whp and 55wtq if that helps...

We run GSC S2 and BC 262, both are excellent, slightly different application.

Yea ive seen the gsc s2 put decent hp but also need valve springs. Im open to different cams. But mainly ones that are safe for stock valve springs.

What other mods are you planning? How do you drive the car? DD, track, strip?

the stock springs are limiting you. GSC1 if you don't want to replace the springs. Have you looked at the labor cost for doing cams?

Not worried about labor im certified tech. Also worked for performance shop on Tampa. I have built a few cars2013 camaro 700hp a few evo 8&9 I was just wondering if anyone has actually tried these cams on the evo x, but Already ordered Brian crower 272. The reason for not changing valve springs is because my hp goal is not 800hp this is still a dd for me and just want to get the most hp without actually building motor.under 400hp im ok with that.

Sounds like the work should be no problem then. I was under the impression that if you do a 272 or 274 cam you HAD to do the springs and retainers...is that not true? I didn't see a point of buying S1 cams to save money. I'd like to do cams once and only once. Like you I'm not looking for 800, this is my daily. I would just like it to make a little more power up top.

The brian crower 272 show that the springs are not needed. If you go with the 280 then yes . I just want as much hp without actually having to build motor. The way I see it if the head has to come off to to springs then u may as well go big or go home lol. But ill see what happens with cams I still need fmic then tune. Worst case I see is ill up grade turbo.

GSC S2 is a popular one.

I forgot which brand (think it's Kelfords), but they're out of stock due to an earthquake destroying a lot of their inventory, and they also produce the blanks for AMS TMP cams, which is also why those are out of stock.

AMS TMP are also one of the most aggressive cams for our cars...

BC272 had the same duration as the GSC S2, I wonder why they aren't needed.

While you're in there, you might as well do springs... I think they're like $250 for the set... Any sort of aftermarket, more-aggressive cam will put increase wear on stock springs...

i think springs are only necessary if your cams exceed a certain amount of came lift at that point your better off getting springs and valves. also some aftermarket cams allow you to further exceed your target rpm range.
