Without a video, I'm wondering if anyone has come across this.

Car starts and is only ran 2 min before taking off...staying out of boost. I get a howling sound about 2800 rpm and 0-10 vac. Very loud and sound like it's behind dash.

This happens in every gear no matter speed.

Then after 5 min of driving all signs go away. Nothing, nothing in any gear, or any load.

This also does not happen is car is warmed up before driven...such as early morning for 10min+

Oil 600 miles old, and all drive train fluids were changed at 102000 miles

Current 112330 miles

When compared to other threads this.is a howling not a whine. Much deeper tone

My evo has 1500 km on it, and right at 2950 RPM I get a loud whine. I'm sure it's the power steering pump. I'm gonna take it to the dealer sometime and see Wtf this is all about.

 

Mine does the same thing... but only on super cold mornings (around 0') and if i don't let it warm up long enough.

And I'm thinking a boost leak....because vac is only 17 at start up. Then after warm it's at 19.4 on cobb ap

 

Because he thinks u have a previous generation evo due to your description. Still says 2005 evo.
