AEM E85 320 LPH High Flow-In Tank Review

Hello everyone

I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section.

I wanted to take the time to share my review with the AEM E85 320 LPH High Flow In-Tank Fuel Pump - AEM Part Number 50-1200.

http://www.aemelectronics.com/e85-hi...et-inline-1303

The overall product is great quality, performs flawlessly, and comes with the needed hardware. Each AEM fuel pump is tested before it goes on sale.

I'm hoping this could help others in the future in any way possible.

I attempted this install with a good friend of mine so I can learn more about my car. This can definitely be a one man job but you will see where I came across a little issue and needed help as you read on.

I used a how to on this forum to uninstall the whole fuel pump assembly.

I got to the point of removing the oem fuel pump to install the new AEM fuel pump.

Here it is side by side comparison of the fuel pumps.

I cut the wires from the oem fuel pump and soldered it onto the new fuel pump.

Here's the green fuel pump filter it came with.

Unless I did something wrong during the install, I noticed that this fuel pump did not fit the oem housing. To my understanding of what I learned after, our Evo 10s have a shorter OEM pump than the Evo 8/9s. This fuel pump requires an install kit to fit properly.

I used an alternative route to install the AEM fuel pump to make it fit and hold it in place tapping holes on the retaining ring and using safety wire. Again, this is where I learned after that this fuel pump requires an install kit to fit properly.

Other than that the fuel pump is working flawlessly and I made 400/358 with the stock turbo on E85.

The overall product is great quality, performs flawlessly, and comes with the needed hardware. Each AEM fuel pump is tested before it goes on sale. Just note that this fuel pump needs an install kit to fit properly unless I did something wrong.

I hope this helps anyone in any way possible.

You can contact AEM Performance Electronics for all of your AEM product needs. Their customer service is beyond exceptional.

You don't do anything with it. Let it hang in the tank.

I love my AEM e85 320 pump, fixed the lean issue I was having on e85 with my DW65 pump.

why/how does it just sit there?? it won't cause like an instant catastrophic explosion when the key is turned?

bonus question: can I use the map install kit that came with my TI Automotive 400 pump? or are the pump diameters different? I know the AEM is 39 mm but idk what the TI Automotive pump is

IIRC, it's a ground. I've had it installed for close to 2,300 miles. No problems.

Not sure on the kit.
