What first mods.

My question is what aftermarket modifications would you buy first? Car is completely stock 2014 GSR. Im more concerned about performance and not worried about warranty. Goals for the car are E85 400hp on stock turbo, stock block. Budget right now is $800.

For ~$800 I'd do a test pipe and pro tune. There are lots of paths you can take though.

Honestly, I'd save up a bigger chunk of cash for the first round of mods though. Or buy parts here and there, then have them all installed and get a tune once, save yourself some money.

^what he said. Test pipe and tune. You won't see 400 with it but more close to 300-310 ish.

You will need a bigger budget than 800 dollars to see 400 WHP.

$800 is like my bi weekly car allowance. I was thinking of just consistently buying parts and installing them all at once especially since I'm still daily driving the car.

ah in that case, TBE, injectors, pump and E85 tune should get you close to it. People have said intake is not needed but it's good to have I guess.

For 400WHP I'd do;

TBE
UICP
LICP
FMIC
Intake
FIC 1100cc Injectors
DW65c Fuel Pump
E85

Depending on the brand of the parts, it's gonna be well over $3K.

Yea, I've heard mixed reviews about intakes. I was thinking Map dp and testpipe and I may have to bite on some H&R Springs I hate the ride height.

Can't do much power mods with $800.00. I would go with an intake and cutback exhaust. I spend around $2500.00 for my bolt ons and tune and I gained about an extra 90 wheel horsepower.

oh and add a 3 port EBC to that list. FMIC is probably a good idea too as Sev mentioned.

First mod should be COBB AP and utilize the free STAGE 1 2 3 MAP, untill you are about full bolt on time for PRO TUNE. At that point you can either sell AP or keep AP for additional gauges like knock sesnor gauge, boost, Shift light. Resale value of AP is pretty high plus you don't risk blowing your engine up running stock tune with Intake ,Exhaust, and 3port while saving up for turbo, injector and Protune.

800 Dollar
COBB AP run stage 1 COBB Panel filter MAP
COBB PANEL FILTER
AEM WIDE BAND

To be safe: turbo upgrade, intercooler upgrade, fuel injectors, exhaust, intake... you might want to add in some reinforcement for the motor - it is an aluminum block. and get a real tune by a reputable dyno shop for the 400 - mail order maps only go so far...

And instead of thinking of just "mechanical" you can also think about shrinking the weight.
