Parking at an angle

Hey guys so this might sound really **** and stupid to some but I was wondering if you park your car at an angle if this would cause susceptibility to less oil in certain chambers when starting up? THis is what I just read on a mercedez website:

When you compare Porsche engine with Mercedes, you will see there are four injection point of oil into the cam. chamber to ensure whatever direction of the car is tilted, there will be adequate oil supply to lub. Once the oil started to flow, any multi. grade will do the job.

-I park my car usually on a 20-30 degree sideways parking spot and am wondering if it could potentially cause certain cylinders to have more wear on it due to start up and longer time to flow into it?

No.

1. Anti-drain back oil filters keep the oil pump 'loaded' with oil.
2. As soon as you start, oil pressure is building and not affected by gravity as to how it flows through the engine i.e. favoring one cylinder or the other. Picture each passage and oil jet all pressurized at essentially the same time. Only if the car is parked so extremely that the oil pickup is starved - the engine shuts itself off if pressure is not sensed within a few seconds of engine start.
3. Lastly, that very small span of time that the piston and valve train is not fully lubricated at start-up is incredibly small.

So, to recap: Sleep well! NO worries, eh?

I would hope that Mitsubishi manufactured a car that can be started at an angle. I lived in a mountainous area for years and never had a problem with any of my cars

you should be perfectly fine. the guy in the picture below is parked at a 90* angle and his car is fine...if you don't count the wheels/tires/suspension....

The picture isn't loading but I'm really interested in seeing a car parked at a 90 degree angle!

I would never park like that. He's basically risking everything by choosing that configuration. I hope he rolls it straight before starting it.

Me too. I thought they were talking about parking on hills, not parking perpendicular to drawn parking spaces.

nope... Theoretically if you parked at an angle that was so steep the oil pickup was not in oil, sure - but you'd basically have to park upside down.

If you parked upside down, oil pickup would be the least of your problems.

I don't understand the 90 degree angle...Because That would be impossible.

That's because the force of all the toilets flushing and spinning the opposite direction keeps the oil in the cars parked in the driveway held in the right spots.
