How long should it take to get my Evo X Please help!

So,

I placed my order for my Evo X in February.

I'm still waiting, and was just told I won't won't have it until August 12th.

I don't understand how it is taking this long?

I was told that the order was actually placed on March 19th.

I have been told so many things.

1.) I was told Car would be Built May 15th and Delivered July 9th.
2.) I was then told, the Ship date would be July 9th.
3.) I then contacted the owner of the franchise and he told me he called Mitsubishi and they will have it here First 2 weeks of July.
4.) Now I'm told that the build date is now June 19th and I won't have the car until August 12th.

Has anyone ordered an Evo from the factory? What was your experience like?

FYI: The reason I ordered my car, was no one could locate one with what I wanted.

I'm pretty pissed off, as September the new ones are supposed to come. I realize that they won't have the Recardo seats? But is it really worth it? Should i just get a 2015?

I need to get my 2k deposit back from these people I guess first.

EDIT: How I got my price.

So, I first contacted a few dealers, almost none would build it for me.
So I found this place.(In Feb)
A few emails back and forth and they agreed to build it. The guy I was working with initially quoted me 39,390.
I said, ok i mean seems like a decent deal.

I show up to drop off the deposit.(a 1.5 hour drive)
He starts quoting me the wrong options. I'm like nah thats not what I ordered. He looks though his email, kind of hoping I was wrong.
He finds the email, and that I was wright.

he then goes and talks to his manager(I would like to point out that he was a pretty jolly fellow, until he came back)
I think he misquoted me, and his manager told him, too bad you gotta sell it for that and its coming out of your earnings. I'm like whatever I want my car cheap.
A month go by, i message this guy..no response..new guy comes on board, emails me back..says the guy i was dealing with was "no longer employed with them"
So, new guy starts saying "car is ordered, build date of May 15th, delivery of July 9th. I'm a little sad that its taking so long, but I"m ok July isn't terrible.
A few weeks go by, I contact them, just asking for an update(Pretty much looking for a VIN, so I can look on Mitsubishi site at the PDF's of the build.
He then says "well car will be SHIPPED july 9th.."
At this point, I kind of lose my cool. I don't flip out on this guy or anything, but in my head im pissed.

I then email the owner of the franchise, hes a nice guy he says he called mitsubishi and had them move my order to the front, and indicates the car will be here in July.

I tell him, i'm not paying the price quoted in Feb for a car I'm not getting for 5-6 months from when I ordered it.

This is when he agrees to the new price.

At this point im happy.

A few weeks go by, I contact the guy at the dealer im talking to again.

Now its a build date of June 19th, and a delivery date of August 12th.

I'm seriously pissed at this point.

Contact owner again, hes going to get back to me Monday.

So, I'm debating waiting until August or going to get one without the aero kit for 37k.

I ordered mine and it was really painless. I have a feeling your delay is having to do with the 15 models about to be being made at the same time.

Any chance you can get your deposit back and buy one just like you want it at the dealer?

I wouldn't have my money out there that long in wait, especially with the new models about to roll out.

Also to note, no way I'd buy this car without the Recaros...

I found one on the other side of my state, but it doesn't have the Aero kit..and I kinda wanted it.

But, I think I would be willing to settle.

I was getting the Sunroof/Leather(Sight/sound) and the Aero Kit for 38,080 I mean that seems like a good deal. But is it good enough to wait?

I think I can get the (Sunroof/Leather/Sight/Sound) for maybe 37k and go get it this month.

EDIT: I'm going to at least see what the owner does for me. He was able to drop the price a bit, and he said he would have it here by July, maybe the guy im dealing with at the dealership isn't aware of this info?

Wow that is a pretty good deal.

Mine has everything available and I ended up paying 40 even.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but the aero kit really does make a difference...

That price is very reasonable.

At least you will be getting some of the best seats I've ever sat in...

Trust me that is saying something.

Thanks for your responses.

I mean I guess I should just wait until August..I just don't get how it could take so long.

For the price I think its probably worth the wait.

How much does the OEM Aero kit cost?

Is it purchasable though Mitsubishi?

I was looking around, and I might be able to get the pieces cheaper or just get nice aftermarket ones eh?

Get the 2015, save some money not getting these heavy Recaros and install some nice heavier bolstered Recaros that weigh 12lbs and save 70lbs of weight!

They wont have the infamous Recardo seats but they will have the next best thing! They will have either the Juan or Miguel seats. Very comparable to the Recardo seats. Sorry man I had to ha ha

FWIW, I ordered a '14 MR last August, and it arrived in December.
But I got my order in when production was in full swing.

Now they're gearing up to make 2015s, so they might not be starting three 2014's an hour.

If you're getting a made-to-order car for under sticker, then ...
... Actually, I'd like to know how you managed that.

Order it through a dealer who is placing their bulk order for a particular model year...

It just doesn't usually happen so late in the year so I was definitely surprised at what a good deal he is getting...
