Low Rear diff reserve

So the other day I went to go check all my fluids and I noticed the reserve that's in the trunk was low. Went to the dealer to ask which one does it take and he said "just because its saying low doesn't mean it's low" " you have to use the scan tool" can someone tell me if he's correct for one I don't trust the dealer. I don't even know why I went there and also where can I find the right fluid for it. Any help would be great thanks.

Yes this is correct, sometimes after you drive the fluid will appear low, but if you check it the next morning, it will be at the proper level. Be careful about topping off your ACD because it may overflow if it is not topped off at the right time.

Ok thank you so best time to check if it's low is when the car has been parked overnight? And if it is low which one is recommended to buy. Again thanks for the info
