I bought a 2014 gsr and I love it, but I don't want to void the (very) limited warranty. I work with someone who has a rs6, and when he started it...it shook the entire parking garage...I had engine envy for a second. I know it's a fully tuned upgraded rs6, pushin 700bhp. Anything I can do quickly and not void warranty to give a little extra ummph?
He was joking as well. But like posted above keep/enjoy the warranty. If you do get the "itch", you can always ask the dealer about certain mods.
You could try and find a dealer that also deals in aftermarket parts. Many dealers do that and will still honor your warranty if something goes wrong.
If you can't find any dealers that will do that, ask them what they will void your warranty for. Some will try to void your warranty for anything, others only engine mods. It's worth asking.

Just keep your original parts when doing the common bolt on parts. Air intake, exhaust, and intercooling piping. The only thing is what my dealer tells me is if it is going to cost a lot to fix, and they see a cai they will most likely void it. So if you are bringing it in knowing something is wrong just go back to a stock parts. I would ask the 2010+ guys if it alerts the dealer if the computer has been tampered with.

But i didnt want to buy a 12 year old car to start modding. Even if he isnt tuned, its a different set up so noting to be jealous of...
twice the litres (4.2 vs. 2.0), twice the # of cylinders (8 vs. 4), nearly twice the horsepower (444bhp vs 291bhp), double the turbos (2 vs. 1)
...and they run roughly the same 1/4 mile.
Only, yours cost a lot less and weighs 500lbs fewer. Big cars make big power, but you still gotta push that power down the road

Legally speaking, in the USA they can't void your warranty just because you mod the car. Now, to defend that right you need to prove whatever you did did not cause the issue. Be prepared to fight like hell though, if you choose to mod and still try to get your warranty honored.
If they outright refuse service JUST because of the mods, that is they saw the mods and refused service without actually looking at the car, this is illegal in the USA. Mention the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and let them know they are required, by law, to honor the warranty. This will result in 1 of 3 outcomes:
They will service the car: Great. Good job.
They will stand firm and not even look at the car: Let them know you will pursue legal action if they do not honor the warranty. If they still won't budge, contact a lawyer which specializes in this. They will likely then look at the car and still deny the warranty, which would lead to...
They will look at the vehicle and say your parts caused the failure: Did they? It's probably pretty obvious if they did. If you were abusing the stock turbo and it blew up, guess what, that's on you. There's no magic fairy here to come and fix it if it is actually your fault. If you are fairly certain the parts did not cause the failure, take the car to another mechanic and obtain proof they didn't. Once you have proof you can bill Mitsubishi for the repairs.
If they won't pay (which is most likely), file a small claims suit against them, if possible. You won't need a lawyer for this, but have all the mechanics documents available and be ready to prove to a judge that your mods did not cause the failure. If allowed, have the mechanic testify as an expert. If the amount of the repairs are too high for small claims (the limit varies by state but is usually somewhere between $1-10k), file an actual lawsuit -- you'll need a lawyer for this. You can include your legal costs in the suit and any other directly related expenses. You can even sue for missed days at work if it's related (careful with how much you ask for, though).
One important note: You cannot sue to have the car fixed in small claims. Small claims only allows you to sue for money, not for repairs or replacements. You may be able to sue for the estimated cost to get the car fixed before having it actually fixed, but it's unlikely to work in your favor.
In addition, I'd have a shop that works with Evo's do the actual repairs. You also should try a few service departments around the area before trying to sue. You do have to show you made an actual effort to get the car repaired under warranty. You will also have a much stronger case if you can say "3 service departments wouldn't even look at the vehicle" vs "this one particular service department wouldn't look at the vehicle" because it helps to expose that Mitsubishi is in a habit of illegally voiding warranties, rather than a 1 time occurrence. They know 99% of people won't fight it and just accept it, show them you are the 1%.

i was on the same boat as you i enjoyed my stock evo for couple weeks/months but then the
MOD BUG came around and couldn't resist it. Now i have full turbo back uicp intake COBB AP and still wanting to mod some more (only bolt on though). Like someone said before ETS EXTREME CB will surely shake stuff i know this cause i have it, was loud as a CB but not that I'm turbo back oh man can u hear me coming from down the street, COLD STARTS ARE A DIFF STORY !!!
